Oxford, United Kingdom

Oxford is a home to the oldest university in the English-speaking world. The University of Oxford was first mentioned in 12th century. Situated 80 km to the west of London. City center is very small and easy walkable. Loads of historic buildings bring the charm to this place. Students love to use bicycles as their preferred transport mode, there are hundreds of them.

If you are a fan of Harry Potter you should visit The Great Hall at Christ Church, which was used as inspiration for the Hogwarts dining hall. The staircase leading up to the hall was actually used in several scenes in the films.

Let's have a walk around the city,
climb The University Church of St Mary the Virgin,
visit at least one of the collages,
have a pint of beer in one of the pubs,
let's enjoy!

“Oxford lends sweetness to labour and dignity to leisure.”

Henry James, Portraits of Places
